1/27/06 contemporary looking and well made. the dial is more gray and less blue than it appears in the photo. a very good looking watch. the clasp is very well designed to prevent accidentally losing the watch. I would wear it during outdoor sports and feel safe it wasn't going to slip off my wrist. my second vostok and I will certainly be purchasing another. There really is nothing that comes close the quality of these watches for this price.

Very nice watch keeps excellent time a tremendous value for the price. These watches far exceed the quality of any others I have seen for twice the price. I don't find it to be as "massive" as others have said. It is well proportioned for a mans wrist and is a very sharp looking watch. It looks both refined and rugged at the same time.

Absolutely the best watch deal on the net.
Customer service is great. I accidentally ordered the watch with a steel bracelet.
I called RussArmy and they allowed me to exchange the bracelet for a nice leather band with deployment clasp.

Very excellent timepiece. Leather band is excellent, as well as the overall quality of the watch itself. Recieved many positive comments regarding it. Will definately look to Vostok for my next timepiece purchase!!!!

I love my amphibian watch, It keeps time quiet accuratley, and for the price you can't beat it. I can't believe these Vostok watches are priced so cheap, but work so well. I have had more expensive watches that have not lasted as long as this Vostok.

I have had this timepiece on my wrist for a while now. The detail in the dial and the case is exquisite! The gold, blue and black accents are a perfect balance to the elegant movement in this awesome timepiece. The Russians really know their craft. The weight is what can be expected of an automatic movement, and reading this timepiece is easy to get used to. I have tried other Swiss brands that cost 5 to 10 times without having this level of satisfaction. It has also been a great conversation piece because it is so unique. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I am sure that you will be as well if you buy one. I am looking forward to years of enjoyment out of this timepiece. Thank you Vostok and RussArmy!

The previous comment is interesting, but don't be put off from buying this watch if it's style interests you.
The Attache line is powered by the very fine 2416B movement, and although any mechanical device might fail, the 2416B is both elegant in operation, and as tough as nails.
Even Rolex has it's share of problem watches. Anyway, over the past several years, I have purchased about 10 watches from Russarmy, and nine of them are based on the 2416B Vostok movement. None of them have failed to date, despite being abused on a regular basis.
The fact is, the 2416B has become my favorite auto wind movement in a reasonably priced watch, and is at least as durable as any other auto wind movement on the market.
The Attache series of watches are big and heavy. They are also built to a very high standard. If the style pleases your taste, buy one. I doubt that you will ever regret it.
My Attache is a couple of years old now, and sports enough fine scratches on the polished surfaces that it's age shows. It is one of the early versions that has the typo error on the dial face, and it always keeps perfect time when I wear it. I see several big name brands offering a similar watch with a Japanese quartz movement, but they miss the point altogether. The Attache series offers you a fine design with a high quality automatic mechanical movement for cheap, and it also sports a glass back cover that lets you watch it in action. Don't be afraid to buy this watch. It's a winner...

An update post... I bought the Kremlin faced watch in black dial face, Mother of pearl, and in the 24 hour dial version from Russarmy. It's been several years now, and here is my take on living with them to date.
Aside from being works of art, they are fantastic time peices. The black dial watch, and the Mother of pearl dial watch were adjusted to near perfection as delivered, and I never felt the need to open the case to tweak them any further. The 24 hour version is the most eye catching and interesting, yet it proved to be adjusted poorly from the factory. It would gain about a minute each day, and I had to spend a little time opening the back cover, and fine tuning it. Now it keeps time as perfectly as a mechanical watch can be expeacted. Of the ten watches I bought from Russarmy over the years, only four needed adjustment to tick off the hours in fine chronograph style.
It is really an easy task, but if you prefer, any jeweler can do it for you.
Anyway, the 2416B movement is pretty much bullet proof, and as shipped in the premium watches, it is very accurate, and very reliable. A well adjusted premium 2416B movement will out perform a Rolex perpetual autowind movement on a bad day. Nothing against Rolex, as they are the jewelry standard, but Russia can build a fine automatic watch too.
I disagree with the guy who warned against manually winding an automatic watch though. An auto watch movement like the 2416B is a winder first, and the rotor motor is added on later. As best as I can tell, there is no prohibition against winding a 2416B movement by hand, nor any mechanical reason that would cause you to avoid twisting the crown on your watch to load the mainspring. I don't know how he stripped a gear, but winding his watch should have had nothing to do with it. Considering that I own nine 2416B based watches that are all at least a couple of years old, and that I do not employ a "winder", I can say with certainty that winding your Vostok by hand is OK.
Aside from that detail, I agree with the others here that the Kremlin clock faced series of watches are simply awesome works of art that also keep time in a fine manner. You will not be sorry if you buy one that has the look that pleses you.

An update for people who appreciate mechanical clocks and watches. It's been a long time simce the 5-CHM wall clock has been available here, and I still kick myself for not buying three when I bought my first one here.
It's been awhile since I posted my first comments about the clock, and in the interim, I notice that more than a few opportunistic web sites have been offering their remaining stock for as much as $280! Thieves like that will never get my business, as they don't deserve getting the time of day from a potential "mark".
Still, I would like to see the 5-CHM clock offered again here, as Russarmy offers good value in it's pricing, and great customer service. The 5-CHM is not worth $200 or more, but at the price Russarmy was selling them at, it is an awesome clock.
It has a bit of a Hollywood personality on it's face (I still wish it was offered with a plain dial), but it is built like a tank, needs no batteries ever, and after some fine tuning of the regulator adjustment, it is spooky accurate.
After the initial adjustments, it will tick away the time in a reasonably temprature controlled environment with an accuracy that will astound you. Also, it only needs winding once each week. No kidding, it will really run for eight days with a full wind.
Even though there are material differences between this clock, and the classic originals, they are substantially the same, even in movement design, and they are worthy of space on your wall.
I hope that Russarmy convinces Vostok to build another batch soon.
It's a real winner, and one of the last of it's kind on the market. If they become available again here, buy one or two. You will be very pleased.

Purchased a Red October series watch. This watch is nice. Not too heavy or bulky but substantial. The solid link band is good. Overall the exterior of the watch seems well made and is a good looking watch also. For the money this is a great watch..it runs as well as my heuer and was a fraction of the cost. Will it last as long as the heuer?? We'll see..

I've had my Kremlin for about three and a half years now, it is near one of the first ones to come out. I have quite a few automatics from various companies new and old. I wear them off and on, but I wind up with this one back on. The other watches feel flimsy now and my arm feels naked. It took awhile to get used to the bulk of this masterpiece but you eventually get addicted to it. This mammoth has been cut from a solid chunk of stainless steel. I am a Corrections Officer and I have to get physical quite often on my job. Other watches do not stand up to this abuse. I heal, they don't. Don't get me wrong though, if you are going to use a pick on stone, take it off. You have delicate gears the size of a grain of sand in all of mechanical watches. but nothing is more amazing in the quality and detailed workmanship on these movements compared to a piece of plastic with a battery stuck in it. There is no production lines on these fine Russian pieces. They have all been individually hand made at separate workstations, just like the expensive swiss watches. When I first got my watch in, my jaw dropped when I opened the box. And I guarentee that yours will too. The pictures do not show the sheer beauty of these timepieces. I just wish the new ones still had the fancy Kremlin dialhands like mine does. They are harder to read, but you get good at it. One warning though, if your movement stops running due to idleness, such as being plopped on the computer for hours, do NOT manually wind these watches (same as with all automatics). I broke three teeth off of the hourwheel doing this and it always stopped at the same time everyday. I wound up getting a whole new 2416b movement for it but keep the old one for backup. They are relatively cheap, but like these watches, hard to find. But if you are in the warrenty bracket, I,ve heard they have exellent repair guarentee. You would just hate sending such a beauty off & being without it for awhile. I have had mine for three and a half years now and I still marvel at it. You always have that grin ready when someone notices it.
